South Coast Playground Improvements - Relocation Options

This year we are planning improvements to playgrounds in the South Coast area. There are currently three playgrounds in this area, one each in Waldronville (Delta Dr), Ocean View (Braids Hill) and Brighton (Brighton Domain).

While the improvement plan is limited to improving existing playgrounds (as opposed to creating new additional playgrounds) there is the option to relocate existing playgrounds for safety or to create space for play improvements.

In this round we would like the community to think about the options of relocating the Ocean View & Brighton Playgrounds.

For Ocean View there are two locations that have thus far been identified, the first is the reserve area immediately north of the existing playground, by the picnic tables. The second is the reserve area by the new Ocean View public toilets and car park.

We are looking at this as the current site has some safety concerns, with regard to limited visibility, heavy shading and road crossing safety concerns.

For Brighton we are proposing relocating the existing playground from the far side of the sportsfield (Domain) to the Surf Lifesaving Club Reserve. This site is highly visible to the community and could help to counteract the issues of undesirable behaviour and frequent vandalism the existing playground incurs at its current location where it is hidden from view.

So please consider this, take a look at the information pdfs listed under Consultation documents and let us know your thoughts on location and what a playground in your community needs.
