Otago Settlers Museum Redevelopment
The Otago Settlers Museum was established in 1898 - the 50th anniversary of the founding of Dunedin city and the Otago Province - and continues to flourish as one of New Zealand's most significant social history museums.
The Museum has continued to grow the collection and expand its programme of activities and exhibitions. The collection is currently stored in less than ideal space and conditions. One of these storage spaces, the NZR garage, was built to house buses and as such offers limited protection to the collection with the temperature and humidity reflecting the weather conditions outside.
We will add updates on the progress of this project as often as they are available.
