Tours of the Botanic Garden

Introductory walking tours

Take a half hour tour of the Lower Garden with one of our volunteer tour guides. You will hear a potted history of the Garden and see it through the eyes of a passionate local.

$15 for a half hour tour. For more information and booking call 471 9275

CREST Train tours

The train will take you on a ten-minute tour of the Lower Garden main walkway. You will hear fascinating snippets of the Garden's history and the features you pass.

The train runs from 1pm to 4pm on the weekends. Check at the Information Centre that the train is running and then just wait at the duck pond.

Guided Horticultural Tours

These guided tours will give you an overview of a particular area of the Botanic Garden. If there is another area you would like to explore in depth, please contact us as we can arrange specialised tours for your group.

Bookings

You need to book all tours in advance and there is a 10-person minimum. There are no booking or gate fees. All charges are GST inclusive.

The tours are available Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Contact us for bookings.

Cancellations

You can cancel your booking up to five working days before your tour without incurring any charges. If your cancellation is received with less than 5 working days notice, there will be a minimum charge.

In the case of bad weather, we accept re-bookings or cancellations at no charge.

If you do not cancel your booking, or fewer people arrive than booked, you will be charged the full cost of your tour. Contact us for cancellations.
