Post cremation services
Ashes will be available for collection 24 hours after the cremation. You can make special arrangements with us to collect them sooner, but no earlier than 8 hours after the cremation.
The ashes may be interred in designated areas including a family plot, ash beam plot, quarter plot or Returned Services section plot or the Columbarium Wall.
You will need to apply for a plot, and give us instructions. There are fees associated with this. If you prefer to scatter the ashes, there are specified areas for this.
If you apply for a Certificate of Cremation, it will be ready at the time of collection of the ashes.
If ashes are not collected from the Crematorium within 3 months from the date of cremation the ashes will be disposed of by the Cemeteries and Crematorium in accordance with the Cremation Regulations 1973.
If you wish to inter the ashes, you must get permission from the burial rights owner. Authority can be given by the RSA for the Returned Services Section. When you have notified us that you wish to inter the ashes, and paid the fees, we will prepare the plot for you.
