Mountain biking tracks around Dunedin
Most of these rides are best suited to mountain bikes with 21 speed gears or more. Some of the sealed and gravel road rides could be accomplished on touring bikes. They are designed to give you an interesting day out with a touring feel. All these routes have been tried and tested by the AOK Social Riders and members of Mountain Biking Otago Inc.
The rides are rated easy, average or hard. Each ride starts and ends at the same point, though larger rides can be broken into smaller circuits. Rides range in distance from 15 to 75 kilometres and often have big hills to ascend and descend.
Tracks not available for Mountain Biking
The following tracks are not available for mountain biking:
- Botanic Garden
- Mt Cargill
- Pineapple Track
- Ross Creek tracks
- Sportsfields - marked grounds and surrounds
- Town Belt - except marked tracks in Jubilee Park
- Woodhaugh reserves
