Ocean Beach Erosion
Following erosion at Ocean Beach early in 2008, the Council sought public input into the identification of causes and possible remedies.
As the next step in that continuing process, we have now embarked on technical and scientific research and data collection to produce the information required for identifying a long-term solution to the coastal erosion problems at Ocean Beach.

Meetings with leaseholders on the Ocean Beach and with adjacent property owners are underway.
As part of the wider consultation process, the Council would also like to offer beach users a further opportunity to comment on their aspirations for the beach and dune system. These comments can be either emailed to dcc@dcc.govt.nz or sent in writing to:
