Aspiring Leaders' Forum 2009 Nominees Selected to Represent the City
Since 2006 the Mayor of Dunedin and the Otago Community Trust have sponsored two young people per year to attend the Aspiring Leaders' Forum. They are currently seeking nominations for two young people to attend the 2009 Forum in Wellington from the 30 July to 2 August.
University of Otago MBA Student Luke Herlihy and Otago Polytechnic Occupational Therapy Student Rebecca Rees have been selected to represent the City at this years Aspiring Leaders Forum. Luke was nominated by Selwyn College and Rebecca by the Roslyn Venturers.
Luke and Rebecca will join other young leaders from around the country in Wellington to discuss the significance of faith and values within the context of leadership.
The Aspiring Leaders' Forum on faith and values attempts to bridge the growing divide between our nation's young people and its leaders by bringing them together in Wellington to debate and discuss the ideas and philosophies of leadership.
While Members of Parliament will host the Forum, the focus is not purely politics: it is about encouraging young people to be better leaders in the areas of society they are engaged in, be it the arts, business, politics or sport.
