Changes to Inner-city Parking

"Get Smarter With City Parking".* you told us. So from Friday 3 July 2009 there will be free Sunday Parking in DCC Parking Buildings and Off Street Car Parks

Our aim is to:

  • provide more parking where it's needed
  • make maximum stays more appropriate to the area -  generally up to four hours
  • improve access for public transport
  • encourage use of parking buildings

It will be easier to find parking in George/Princes Streets - but it will now cost you to park there.

Parking in DCC parking buildings offers cheaper, no maximum stay, parks close to the CBD and it's FREE on Sundays

Fees apply to all areas 9.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Saturday.

These changes will make buses a more attractive choice - and some central city stops will be relocated. There are more "Goods Vehicle Loading Zone" spaces making life easier for them in George and Princes Streets.

There will be some minor changes restricting the 75+ parking concessions on George Street and off-street parking areas.

You can now use credit cards/text-a-park to pay at designated parking meters.
