Building inspections - What you need to know
Details of what is required to book a building inspection including an online booking form and a checklist of what you need to supply.
A list of required inspections will be included with your building consent. You need to book these as each stage of work is completed, with two working days' notice.
Inspections are a means of being satisfied with compliance. They are not intended to replace advice from your designer or trades people.
What you need to book an inspection
When you make your booking, you will need to supply the following information:
- Your building consent number
- The site location / address
- The type of inspection required
- The name and contact phone number of the person who will be on-site at the time of the inspection
All building consent documents and any approved amendments must also be on-site at the time of inspection.
Hours of inspections
Building inspectors are available:
- Monday to Friday 9.00am- 4.30pm (lunch breaks from 12.00pm - 1.00pm)
- Saturday / Sunday - by special arrangement
- Public Holidays - no inspections
