This page lists a variety of funding options that are offered by the Economic Development Unit to support local businesses.

Market Support Programme
The Market Support Programme offers support to Dunedin City firms to develop new and exisiting markets (both domestic and international) for their products and services. The primary focus of the programme is increased revenue for the business.
The Market Support Programme provides assistance of up to $10,000 to firms. The funding is reimbursement on a dollar-for-dollar basis and covers external costs only.

Industry Project Fund
The fund assists collaboration between Dunedin businesses and industry organisations to overcome barriers and/or increase opportunities to bring economic benefits into the city. A minimum of three businesses or industry organisations is required for the application to proceed.
The minimum total project size is $15,000 (incl GST) with the Industry Project Fund contributing up to two-thirds of the total project amount.
The industry contribution must be at least one third (minimum cash only) of the total project amount approved. There is no maximum project size.
There will be two contestable funding rounds per financial year, one in March and the other in September.

Research support Fund
The Research Support Fund aims to assist Dunedin research organisations and businesses to help secure more research funding. The primary aim is to lift the quality of applications to successfully attract funding.
The Research Support Fund covers external costs only.
The maximum available to one applicant (i.e. individual researcher) per financial year (July 1- June 30) is $10,000.
