Community sector training

There are a number of training opportunities and sessions available to people working in the community and voluntary sector.

Knowledge, Nibble and Network

Dunedin Council of Social Services (DCOSS), Dunedin Volunteer Centre and the DCC's Community Development team host monthly lunchtime training and networking lunches for community sector representatives to come along and meet and talk about topical issues.

Meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month, 12 pm - 1 pm at the Clifford Skeggs Gallery in the Octagon.

Not for profit management courses

Unitec NZ's Graduate Diploma in Not-for-Profit Management is recognised as a unique, part-time programme supporting busy managers, coordinators, team leaders, volunteers and board members of community and voluntary organisations, hosted in this region by Dunedin Council of Social Services (DCOSS).

It helps managers and their organisations be more effective and addresses the complexity of working in this particular sector. It's a great opportunity to gain further skills, knowledge and networks with others in similar roles.

Courses are in short blocks of two or three days. You can choose how many courses you take each year. Scholarships to assist with fees are available.

For full information about the programme, enrolment and scholarship application forms, go to Unitec (new window).
