Are you looking for housing in Dunedin?
This page details what community housing is provided by the Council for residents of the City. If you are interested in a council house, then check out the details.
We may be able to help if:
- You are a New Zealand Citizen
- Are permitted to reside here permanently
- You are over 18 years of age at the time of application
- We are satisfied that you will be a good tenant
Because resources are limited, our community housing is targeted to those who most need it.
If your application is approved, we will place you into one of four priority groups, according to your circumstances. The higher your priority, the more likely you are to be housed.
How do you apply?
More information about eligibility, costs and applications is available in our information booklet. When you have read this information , fill out the application form and post or hand deliver it to us.
The application is a statutory declaration and must be signed in the presence of a DCC Housing Officer, a Justice of the Peace or a Solicitor.
If you have any more enquiries, you can contact us on 477 4000, or call into our office in the Municipal Chambers in the Octagon, (under the clock tower).
