District Plan

The Dunedin City District Plan is a document that has been prepared under the Resource Management Act 1991 in conjunction with the Dunedin community. It identifies issues and develops objectives, policies and methods to manage the effects of land use activities on the environment. The ultimate goal of the Plan is the sustainable management of the natural and physical resources of Dunedin.

Those parts of the Plan shown in the attached Schedule , including parts of the relevant Planning Maps, were made Operative in Part on 19 April 2004. The balance of the District Plan was made Operative as at 3 July 2006, and the Dunedin City District Plan is now Operative in its entirety.

Please note

Specific zoning appeals on Plan Change 15 (Mosgiel Residential Expansion) are still to be determined by the Environment Court. The plan  shows the areas in Mosgiel that are still subject to Plan Change 15 zoning appeals.

Hardcopies of the District Plan are available for viewing at Dunedin City Council service centres or at public libraries. They may also be purchased from City Planning, Dunedin City Council, 477 4000.
