District Plan changes
Any person may request a change to the operative part of a District Plan. Part 2 of the First Schedule to the Resource Management Act 1991 sets out the the process.

Council has also prepared a Drafting guideline to assist anyone wishing to prepare a private plan change request. The guideline provides the expected style and format for plan provisions, from issues and anticipated environmental results through to rules.

For Plan Changes that are still in their consultation period, a form enabling you to make a submission is also available. Once the submission or further submission periods have closed for a Plan Change, summaries of submissions will also be made available.
When the Council Hearings Committee has made a decision on whether to accept or reject a Plan Change, the decision report will also be made available here.
