Resource Recovery Centre and Transfer Station hours

Location: 9 Brighton Road, Green Island (opposite Burgess St.), 10 km from the Octagon ph: 488 4741

Summer Hours

Summer hours (daylight savings) extend from the last Sunday in September to the first Sunday in April.

• Monday to Saturday 8.00am - 7.00pm
• Sunday 9:00am - 7:00pm

Winter hours

• Monday to Saturday 8.00am - 5.30pm
• Sunday 9.00am - 5.30pm

Closed

• Christmas Day
• Easter Friday
• Anzac Day Closed until 12 noon

Acceptable waste at Green Island Landfill

Including general waste, the following items can be taken to Green Island Resource Recovery Centre, Transfer Station and Landfill for recycling or disposal.

• Aluminum, batteries and car bodies
• Cardboard, cleanfill and clothing
  
• Computers, contaminated soil and cover
• Demolition material, fluorescent lights and garden vegetation
• Gas cylinders, glass bottles and jars and hazardous waste
• Metal, offal and paint
• Paper, plastic bottles #1 and #2 and reusable items
• Special waste (sludges and liquids), Steel food cans and tyres
• Used motor oil and whiteware

Agrecovery collection

This nationwide rural recycling programme provides for the recovery of agrichemical triple rinsed plastic.
