How are we doing?

New Zealand as a whole has shown a notable increase in the percentage of people with a degree or vocational qualification. Dunedin reflects this trend, offset by a decrease in the percentage of people with a high school qualification as their highest qualification.

In this respect, Dunedin is slightly above average when compared with the whole of New Zealand and for the 12 largest cities. In 2006, 34.2% of people in Dunedin had a high school qualification compared with 31.4 % for the whole of New Zealand and 33% for the 12 largest cities.
