How are we doing?

The Quality of Life Report 2007 measures the rate of serious and fatal injuries per 10,000 population. Dunedin (9.8) and Rodney (10.5) have the highest rates of serious and fatal injuries in New Zealand. The lowest are in Wellington and Hamilton (both 3.1).

Nationally, there has been an overall decrease from 2002 to 2006 from 7.5 to 7.0. Over this same period of time Dunedin's rate dropped from 12.6 to 9.8.
