How are we doing?
Voluntary work is a measure of social participation and caring for others. This indicator measures the percentage of residents, aged 15 years and older, who take part in 'other helping and voluntary work for or through any organisation, group or marae'.
In 2001 the percentage of residents doing voluntary work was 15%. By 2006 this had declined to 12%.
