Air quality - number of exceedences over PM10 standards (days)
This indicator measures a city that values the natural environment, biodiversity and landscapes.
Vision
A city that makes the most of its natural and built environment.
About this measure
This indicator measures the number of days that Dunedin's air exceeds the maximum allowable concentration of particle matter set by the National Environmental Standards for air quality.
From 2006, data on the number of exceedances is recorded from the Otago Regional Council's continuous air quality monitoring sites in Mosgiel and Central Dunedin.
This data is not directly comparable to previous data which included readings taken from monitoring sites which only recorded air quality every three days
