Community Development Committee
To ensure the maintenance and development of community services facilities and assets which contribute to the character, culture, heritage and identity of Dunedin and to pursue an active community development role in active partnership with local communities.

Economic Development Committee
To present to the Council projects of economic benefit which the Committee believes should be undertaken by the Council and to oversee individual projects delegated to it by Council, particularly projects for the economic development of the city.

Finance and Strategy
The Committee ensures the maintenance and development of all financial and corporate services necessary to an effective and efficient organisation, including regular reviews. It monitors and reports on the overall financial performance of the Council. It ensures the maintenance and development of effective and efficient annual audit procedures.

Infrastructure Services
To ensure the maintenance and development of all specified facilities and services in a business-like manner in accordance with goals and objectives set by the Council.

Planning and Environment
To ensure the maintenance and planned improvement of the quality of the natural and physical environment of the city primarily by the use of appropriate planning and implementation techniques to ensure sustainable management of those resources.

Community Assistance Subcommittee
To encourage local initiatives using the resources available to Council in accordance with agreed priorities set by Council in its Community Initiatives Plan or, where relevant, set by the Hillary Commission and Creative New Zealand so as to achieve maximum community benefits.

To hear matters of a quasi-judicial nature.

Property Subcommittee
Authority to approve property sales and purchase in excess of $100,000 and property development in excess of $1,000,000.
Otago Settlers Museum Board
To determine the policy and strategies for, and oversee the management of, the Otago Settlers Museum and its future growth and development.

Dunedin Centre Subcommittee
