Chalmers Community Board

Each year the Chalmers Community Board produces a Community Plan that decribes the area, its environment, community and its industries. The Community Plan also outlines what goals the Chalmers Community Board aim to achieve for the future year.

Elected Members

Jan Tucker

Jan is Chair of the Chalmers Community Board. Jan has 35 years teaching experience both at KETHS and Logan Park High School. She is a member of Port Chalmers and District Lions Club and Keep Dunedin Beautiful, and is Vice-President of Bowls Dunedin. Jan enjoys reading, swimming and playing bowls and, when she has time, gardening.

Steve Walker (Deputy Chair)

Stephen has degrees in Hotel Catering and Institutional Management (1986) and Third World Development Studies (1997).

He worked for a small import company as a sales and marketing director in London from 1988-1994, before spending 8 years travelling the world and studying for his 2nd degree. He has travelled to over 80 countries world-wide, and during that time was involved in a number of voluntary development programmes for developing nations.

His other interests include golf (single handicap player), tramping, bowls, fishing and soccer (soccer coach for Harbourside).

He is a member of the Port Chalmers Golf Club, Port Chalmers Bowls Club, Vision Port Chalmers, Otago Natural History Trust and is a Committee member of the Rothesay News where he has a regular column.
