Ernie Ball

Ernie thanks everyone who voted, both for doing their duty and for putting their trust in THE elected members to carry out their duties on behalf of the City.

Ernie worked for a magazine company for many years travelling as a PR and Sales advisor. He also worked for the Otago Daily Times as Circulation Manager, which he says was a great experience. Ernie has always taken an interest in serving the community, and says the will and drive to continue to do so is on going.

Ernie has been a Justice of the Peace for 33 years, and has been on their council for nine years (three of them as Vice President). He was on the Brockville School Committee for 14 years (12 as Chair), and saw the school roll climb from 200 to 900, which was a great challenge.

He has served on the Otago Combined Schools Association (including two years as Vice Chair), the Brockville Improvement Society (12 years - six as Chair), the Combined Rate Payers Association (Vice Chair), Otago Sales Rep Guild (Union) (Chair for six years), and the National Sales Rep Guild (four terms as Vice Chair). He was Chair of the Anti-Litter Committee in Dunedin and also served on the National Council.
