Councillor Kate Wilson - Mosgiel-Taieri Ward
Kate is a newly elected Councillor for the Mosgiel-Taieri Ward. Kate was born, raised and educated in Dunedin.
She has degrees in Law and Arts from Otago University. From being bought up in the centre of Dunedin she moved to its outer reaches when she married and moved to her husband's family farm in Middlemarch in 1992. Since then Kate has been active in many community organisations, including the Strath Taieri Community Board (chaired 1998-2001).
She also established the popular Kissing Gate Cafe and is involved in running the Singles Dance. She was an inaugural member of Dunedin Rural Development, a Government appointee to the Board of Telford Rural Polytechnic, and is still a Director of the Taieri Gorge Railway and a Trustee of the Otago Central Rail Trial.
