Councillor Richard Walls - Hills Ward
Richard Walls is a Justice Of The Peace and Marriage Celebrant. Chairman, Dunedin International Airport; Trustee: The Otago Cricket Trust Inc; The Aramoana Relief Trust Inc. (Chairman); Vice Patron, The Otago Art Society Inc. and Foundation Chairman and Life Member, Otago Theatre Trust Inc. Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand (FInstD) and a Fellow of The New Zealand Institute Of Management Inc (FNZIM).
Following an extensive career in sales, marketing and company management, he more recently partnered his wife (June) in owning and operating a womens fashion shop in George Street.
First elected to the Dunedin City Council in 1980. Chairman, Economic Development Committee 1986-89. Mayor 1989-95. Member of Parliament for Dunedin North 1975-78, Appointed a Companion of the Queen's Service Order (QSO) in 1996 for public services.
