Dunedin City Holdings Limited

About this time each year we report on the progress made by the companies owned by Dunedin ratepayers and managed under the umbrella of Dunedin City Holdings Limited. These companies exist to provide vital community services and make a financial return to the city, either directly in cash or indirectly by what they bring to our community.

Each year the results have been consistently spectacular, and this year - despite the doom and gloom of recession - the good news continues with best ever company revenues and a group payment of $19.8 million to Dunedin City Council.

The group of companies also made substantial contributions to community charities and events, and was heavily carbon positive, increasing its carbon balance during the year by 84,120 tonnes through the strategic ownership of large sustainable forests in and around Dunedin City.
