Aurora Energy Limited owns the electricity network assets of poles, lines, cables and substations within the immediate Dunedin area and in Central Otago and tge new Flute Network fibre optic infrastructure.
Aurora always performs outstandingly well, and continued to do so this year, paying a dividend of $13.2 million. This growth is a reflection of the additional number of consumer connections to the Aurora network; +2.2% in Central Otago and +0.4% in Dunedin. Aurora continued to invest in the regions, building a new environmentally sensitive substation at The Commonage in Queenstown and commencing the undergrounding of power lines in Kaikorai Valley Road, Dunedin.
