About this track

A variety of routes and tracks that lead the intrepid walker, hiker and mountain biker past historic stone walls, view points over cliff edges and through regenerating native bush. The Highcliff, Buskin, Paradise Road and Braidwood Tracks provide a fantastic morning expedition over one of the most rugged routes on the Peninsula. One of the best ways to tackle these routes is to start at the Highcliff Track at the end of McMeeking Road and follow the markers down to Boulder Beach before returning via the Paradise Road Track, which leads up to Highcliff Road.

Getting there

From Dunedin, drive along Highcliff Road until you reach Karetai Road. Turn down Karetai Road and then turn left down McMeeking Road. Follow McMeeking Road down to the start of the trail where a small car park is located next to Department of Conservation signs. Warning: Larger vehicles such as camper vans will be unable to turn around at the end of the road and need to park further back up McMeeking Road.
