TAYLOR Amy - Candidate profile
Affiliation: Future Dunedin
My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area.
I moved to Dunedin in 2010 to study and have since made it home with my husband and two daughters. Over the years, I’ve been deeply involved in the community through volunteering and advocacy. I work as a Community Connector for the Disabled Persons Assembly, partnering with local organisations to support the needs of disabled people. My lived experience and community involvement give me valuable insight into the challenges many face, especially our most vulnerable. I also bring academic strength to the table, holding a PhD in Genetics from the University of Otago. I’m proud to be standing with Future Dunedin, a team committed to transparency and fiscal responsibility. I’ve seen firsthand how much can be achieved with limited resources—something our council should strive for, especially during a cost of living crisis. I believe in listening to our community and prioritising spending where it’s needed most.
