My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area.
Kia Ora, I am Evelyn Robertson an ECE Teacher and a board member of Dunedin Pride. I am standing for council because Dunedin needs councillors who believe passionately in our city. I understand that it is strong communities that drive growth and make Dunedin a fantastic city. On the council I will ensure that all local communities are represented, celebrated and affirmed, empowering a strong and vibrant city that attracts investment and is worth living in.
My vision to bring down rates is to raise revenue by bringing working families back into our city using nonfinancial incentives; targeted zoning and consent exceptions, MPZ consideration, and a preapproved design pattern book to incentivise housing development that grows and supports Dunedin. Making housing more affordable while mitigating the current zoning model’s overextension of public utilities must be a priority for planning and development within our city.
