Walk to work competition

Walk 2 Work Day is a national day created by Living Streets Aotearoa in 2009 to celebrate walking.

The DCC encourages walking as more than just a great way to get around your neighbourhood – it’s proven to benefit health, happiness, the environment and the economy.

If commuters can’t walk the full journey, they can still increase the walking part of their journey – whether it’s walking to the next bus stop, getting off public transport earlier or parking further away from work.

Walk 2 Work Day 2019

We are celebrating Walk 2 Work Day on Wednesday, 13 March this year. To recognize and encourage more people to walk all or part of their commute, the DCC is running a photo competition.

Send us a photo of you strutting your stuff with a catchy caption and you will be in the draw to win one of two $100 Smiths Sports Shoes vouchers.

Add your photo to the comments on the Connecting Dunedin Facebook post and include the hashtag #w2wDunedin or email your photo to transport@dcc.govt.nz
