How to get there

  • From the Octagon (average)

    Ride along George Street to the Dunedin Botanic Garden, travel along the flank of the gardens on Opoho Road, then up the hill onto Signal Hill Road. Ride up the hill keeping to the tarseal until you see the monument. From the Botanic Garden this is a 3km uphill ride (300m climb).

  • From Ravensbourne (average)

    Ride up the zig-zag formed by Adderley Terrace and Junction Road. At the top of Junction Road turn left into Rimu St (unsealed to Exit Road). 100m up the road a gate and sign mark the start of the track.

  • From Logan Park/Butts Road (hard)

    Access the lower Signal Hill Track from Butts Road by riding along the main Logan Park High School drive, the track starts beyond the tennis courts on the right of the playing fields. A steep rough ride, up the 4WD track will get you to the upper tracks.
