Anna Knight (Deputy Chair)

Tēnā koe,

I am delighted to serve this triennium as Deputy Chair. Born in Whakatu, Blueskin Bay has been my home for four years now, where I live with my partner Matt (who runs a day programme for people with disabilities) and dog Alfie, enjoying daily strolls in the area. I volunteer with the Halo Project, potting up at the nursery in Purakaunui and regularly walking the trapline to keep our local birdlife thriving.

Alongside my work on the board, I’m a freelance French-English translator, subtitler and copy editor, mainly working with museums and galleries in France, where I spent two decades after graduating with a first-class BA (Hons) from the University of Otago. An ongoing goal is to learn te reo Māori and Arabic. I hope to be an approachable, caring representative to our wonderful community and an effective conduit to the DCC, to achieve great outcomes for us all.
