Marian Poole

Born in Invercargill, I have lived in West Harbour all my adult life, raising three sons and now minding our three grandsons. My career portfolio is diverse; a self-employed music teacher, journalist, researcher and presenter; was employed as Regional Manager for Reid Research; sole trader in a garden nursery business and had a self-managed property portfolio.

My qualifications include Registered Music Teacher, Diploma in Horticulture and Doctorate in Music. Governance roles included member of the St Leonards Kindergarten and St Leonards School Board of Trustees. I am current Chair of Deborah Bay Residents Association and member of the Keep Dunedin Beautiful Committee and of the Labour Party. I donate to the Green Party and Te Pati Māori. Other interests include attending cultural events maintaining my permaculture garden, reading Aotearoa New Zealand histories, central government politics and articles on climate change. I enjoy cold water swimming.
