Dunedin's walking tracks provide a challenging and outstanding way to experience the scenery around the city. We provide these tracks for you to enjoy with many crossing private property, including DCC Water Department and City Forests Limited land. Choose from a range of tracks and trails to explore a breadth of Dunedin’s landscapes and take in the beauty of the city and its coast. Choose a track to match your skills, fitness and the experience you want.

Please remember that access through private property is a privilege, not a right. Public use of this area is at the goodwill of the landowners.

Ross Creek Track Network

Ross Creek has a trail for everyone, with a number of loops to choose from, take a quick 20-minute jaunt, or a longer adventure.

Port Chalmers Town Belt Tracks

This route takes you in a circuit around Port Chalmers’s best gems! Linking Old Cemetery, Scott’s Memorial, Centenary Lookout, Port Chalmers Cemetery and Lady Thorn Dell, the walk is a visually gorgeous and interesting from start to finish.
