Community funding and grants

This funding for groups providing activities and facilities for the well being of community.

The deadlines for all schemes are the last working Fridays in March and September; application forms for these will not be available on this web site till early March and September respectively.

It is a good idea to talk to us before you lodge your application. We will be able to help you decide which part of your project is eligible for funding.

Who can apply to the Community Grants Scheme

It is preferable that the organisations are incorporated societies or trusts but informal organisations may apply. It is aimed at non-profit organisations that serve the social, educational, cultural and environmental wellbeing and development of the community, including:

  • Self help, Support, Neighbourhood, Ethnic, Environmental
  • Social service, Youth and Senior citizen

How much are the grants?

Most grants are between $500 and $2,000, although occasionally larger grants are made. As we are a complementary rather than a primary funder, priority is given to organisations that have sought other sources of funding first. Only one application for one project per year will be accepted.

Small project Scheme

This scheme is for projects under $500. There is no closing date as processing is within 10 working days of receiving the application.

Note however, you can only apply to either the main DCC Community Grants Scheme or DCC Community Grants Small Project Scheme in any one year.

Application details

All applications for a Small Project should be made on the application form.
