Native planting in Dunedin

The DCC’s Native Planting Guide and webmap were created to help inform small scale native planting projects in Dunedin city.

The webmap provides ecologically appropriate plant species lists for different parts of the city. The information is sourced from expert reports specifically for Dunedin.

To find a species list for a specific property:

  1. Enter the property address in the address bar and click on the search icon
  2. Click on the property and use the arrow/s in the top-right of the pop-up to scroll to the Ecosystem information
  3. Click on ‘More info’ for the Planting species list field

To find a species list for an area:

  1. Navigate the map to the area, zoom in and click on the area of interest
  2. Use the arrow/s in the top-right of the pop-up to scroll to the Ecosystem information
  3. Click on ‘More info’ for the Planting species list field

For further information on the Native Planting Guide webmap click on ‘More info’ for the Further Information field in any of the pop-ups.
