The Dunedin City Council (DCC) helps increase skills, incomes, job opportunities and investment in the city, guided by the Economic Development Strategy.

Enterprise Dunedin is the economic development and destination marketing arm of the DCC.

It works to achieve the goals of the Economic Development Strategy and to action the Dunedin Destination Plan with the community.

Enterprise Dunedin’s key activities include:

  • Free, confidential business clinics available by appointment for business advice, liaison with the DCC, ideas for funding sources and useful contacts.
  • Start up support, helping new or existing businesses by linking them with the right people, local networks and mentors.
  • Good Food Dunedin, helping Dunedin become a resilient and sustainable food city by supporting local innovation in what and how we eat.
  • Study Dunedin, helping attract international students, working with schools and tertiary institutions.
  • Film Dunedin, encouraging local screen productions by helping to find locations and crew, manage film permit requests, source research and funding, and assisting with marketing.
  • Dunedin isite Visitor Centre, providing local and national information as well as a booking service for our visitors and residents, open 365 days a year.
  • Destination marketing, helping attract those wanting to live, work and visit Dunedin, and offering advice and imagery to others promoting the city.
  • Dunedin’s Regional Tourism Organisation, helping promote the city’s attractions to national and international tourist trade operations.
  • Dunedin Business Events, assisting business events or conference planners seeking advice, ideas and contacts.
  • Dunedin Business Internship Programme, annually matching likely graduates with Dunedin businesses.
