I am from Dunedin and was educated at the University of Otago, going on to further study with the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand, as well as qualifications in Waste Minimisation and solid waste management from the University of Wisconsin. I worked for many years in tourism and moved into Waste Minimisation at the Dunedin City Council for almost 15 years, I remain a life member of the New Zealand Waste Management Institute. For the past 3 years I have been an Advisor with HealthNZ.
I’ve enjoyed the lifestyle of West Harbour for over almost 30 years. My experience in Local Government as a staff member and later as a member of the West Harbour Community Board, the previous three years as Chairperson (2022-2025), has helped me to work in the community to benefit our very special West Harbour community and allows me to use my knowledge and skills for effective governance for our community.
As editor of the local Rothesay News, I bring news, information and ‘What’s on’, so we can all share our vibrant, unique West Harbour lifestyle.
I am a JP and helping to provide JP services to the local community. I am a member of the Port Chalmers & District Lions Club and a committee member of the Port Chalmers Historical Society, which provides the Port Chalmers Maritime Museum. I have a large garden which I enjoy.
