Parking permits

We offer a range of parking permits to support different parking needs across Ōtepoti Dunedin.

75+ Parking Vehicle Permit

If you are 75 years old or over, you can apply for a permit that allows you to park for free in Pay By Plate on-street parking spaces and Dunedin City Council (DCC) off-street car parks around the city.

Authorised Vehicle Permit

The Authorised Vehicle Permit is provided to assist delivery vehicles to load or unload goods with minimum disruption to other road users.

Construction Zone Permits and permits for a skip or shipping container

You will need to apply for a permit if you require a parking area near a demolition, construction, or building zone to be designated as a construction zone parking area for vehicles, or you want to place a skip or a shipping container on a public road.

Resident Parking Permit

If you live in the Inner City Residential Zone (as zoned in the 2GP) in a residential unit with no off-street parking, you may be eligible for the Resident Parking Permit.

Short-term and temporary parking permits

Short-term or temporary parking permits are available for goods/services vehicles and not-for-profit organisations and/or groups where you may need to park in metered or time-restricted parking spaces for longer than the specified time.
