There are a variety of ways to learn more about living sustainably, to get involved in sustainable living initiatives, and meet like-minded people in your community.
Sustainable Action Communities
There are Sustainable Action Communities from Waikouaiti to Portobello to Mosgiel. The groups:
- Connect people to others in their community
- Provide opportunities to share skills in sustainable practice
- Help create resilient communities.
Groups run activities such as beekeeping, preserving, sharing seeds, visits to eco homes, keeping hens in the city, bicycle maintenance, stream cleanups and lots more.
Skills, time and venues are shared informally within each group at no cost, to the benefit of everyone in the group.
Contact - Education and Promotions Officer, Dunedin City Council on 03 477 4000 for more information about these groups.
