Paul Pope (Chair)

I’ve spent nearly 30 years of my life working for the Dunedin community personally and professionally. It’s taught me to be a patient listener, a great communicator and a person who strives to find solutions and put a plan into place for the benefit of the community.

I like to think of myself as being very grounded, approachable and down to earth. Someone who doesn’t beat around the bush and speaks openly and honestly. I like to mix my community passion with my skills, education and a strong dose of common-sense and experience.

I was elected Deputy Chairman of the Peninsula Community Board in 2013 and became Chairman in 2016 and re-elected in 2025. I have led my community from the front and believe in putting our community first and being focused on the needs of local people and local issues.
