Organising festivals and events in Dunedin

Festivals and events play an important role in creating vibrant cities by strengthening communities, celebrating culture and identity, and supporting local economic growth. They bring people together, attract visitors, create opportunities for artists and businesses, and help make Dunedin feel like home.

The Dunedin City Council’s Festivals and Events Plan (Link here) supports the city’s goals for social wellbeing, economic development, arts and culture, and recreation. This toolkit has been developed to help organisers plan and deliver successful events in Dunedin, regardless of size.
