Andrew Sutton (Deputy Chair)

I’m a Mosgiel–Taieri local of 15 years, educator, and community volunteer. I grew up in East Otago and farmed for nearly 30 years before retraining as a teacher in 2011-13.

I’ve taught at Taieri College and Trinity Catholic College, where I’ve been involved in pastoral care and sports coaching. I was also involved with governance at Macraes-Moonlight School and Silverstream School.

I’m passionate about responsible council spending, practical infrastructure, and open communication. I love cricket, basketball, and supporting junior sport.

Away from work, I enjoy walking our dog Haggis, helping local community groups, and spending time with my wife Toni and our four children.
