This page outlines several road safety initiatives that the Council and community organisations in Dunedin have engaged throughout the years.
The Dunedin City Council works with a number of government agencies to deliver road safety education in the Dunedin region. This partnership is guided by the Dunedin Road Safety Action Plan and the New Zealand Government’s Safer Journeys Strategy 2010-2020. This strategy was launched in 2010 to guide New Zealand’s efforts to improve road safety and create “A safe road system increasingly free of death and serious injury”.
