About this track
The A H Reed Track is a great short walk for people wanting a quick and easy way to take in the views from the top of Mt Cargill. The track takes you up a well-made gravelled foot-track from the carpark at the top of Cowan Road to the summit of Mount Cargill. Along the track are a variety of native alpine plants from Ozothamnus and Veronicas to Gaultheria and Manuka.
Getting there
From Pine Hill Road, take a right onto Cowan Road and drive up to the top of the road and park in the carpark.
Know before you go
The top of Mt Cargill can be subject to sudden changes in the weather. A spare warm/ windproof layer is advised.
