Withholding personal details from the Rating Information Database (RID)

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) holds information about you as part of its rating process.

In accordance with Section 28C of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 you can request to have your name and or postal address withheld from the Rating Information Database (RID).

Every ratepayer has the right to request that this information be withheld. This request can be made through the online form, or paper form.

The RID can be viewed on our website, www.dunedin.govt.nz or by calling into the Customer Service Centre on the Ground Floor of the Civic Centre, 50 The Octagon, Dunedin.

Assessment number: from the top right of your assessment notice.
Valuation number: from the top right of your assessment notice. Labelled as Valuation No.
Property address: labelled as Property Location.

If there are more than five properties you would like your personal details withheld for, please submit another form for the additional properties.

By marking your preferred option above, the DCC will remove all names and/or postal addresses relating to the above valuation assessments from our RID.

Please note: this information can be sourced from other public databases beyond the control of the DCC e.g., the Electoral Roll, from a Certificate of Title from Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), or some online directories.

I request that my name and postal address be withheld from the Dunedin City Council’s public rating information database in accordance with Section 28 C of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002. the information. I have provided is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. I understand that, while public access to my personal details will be restricted, the DCC still maintains this information internally for rating purposes, in accordance with relevant legislation.

Please note: if one owner requests the details removed than all owners' details will be removed.
