| Application description | Resource consent is sought to undertake road widening and upgrades for State Highway 1, McLaren Gully Road and Big Stone Road associated with the establishment and operation of a new municipal landfill (to be located on land at 700 and 750 Big Stone Road). The construction of the roading upgrades will require earthworks of approximately 46,700m3 of cut, and 18,470m3 of fill, and cuts of up to 7m in height. Resource consent is also required for the clearance of approximately 16.5m2 of indigenous wetland vegetation, roadside lizard habitat in exotic grasslands and riparian wetland along Otokia Creek Tributary between the landfill site and McLaren Gully Road. Note: This application to the Dunedin City Council as consent authority, is not for the landfill. A resource consent is being sought from the Otago Regional Council for the construction, operation, and aftercare of the landfill (application RM20.260). Please refer to the Otago Regional Council public notice for that application (also in the Otago Daily Times). All enquiries regarding the landfill should be directed to the Otago Regional Council and submissions on application RM20.280 must be served on the Otago Regional Council. |
