Dunedin City Council – Kaunihera-a-rohe o Otepoti

Tertiary precinct project

Work on the Tertiary Precinct project has been delayed until after the central city upgrade work is completed.

We still want to upgrade the area around the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic campuses with the aim to improve the safety and accessibility of the area, as well as lifting the look and feel for students, staff and the wider community.

We plan to spend $1 million in 2030-31 on some preliminary planning work.

A new bidirectional cycleway will be constructed in Albany Street, linking the Harbour Shared Path and the cycle lanes on the one-way system. More information about this project can be found here: www.dunedin.govt.nz/albany-connection.

Smaller, less complex projects may be carried out as part of Dunedin City Council’s road safety improvements programme in the next 10-year period (2021-31).
