Request to hire a waste audit kit

You can book free tools and resources from Dunedin City Council (DCC) to help you carry out a waste audit. To book your Waste Audit Kit, please complete this form.

DCC waste audit hire agreement

• All equipment provided for hire remains the property of the DCC.
• Agreement to these Terms and Conditions (T&C), by way of filling out the declaration field in this form, is required before the waste audit kit can be booked.
• Please note when booking the waste audit kit, the DCC require at least 10 working days’ notice before the waste audit kit can be collected.
• Equipment must be returned on the agreed return date. If this is not possible, contact us on 03 477 4000 or by email waste.environmental.solutions@dcc.govt.nz. Any alternative return time must be within 24 hours of the original return date and time.
• The DCC will make every effort to provide the requested items but reserves the right to supply equivalent alternatives if necessary.
• If equipment is returned damaged, dirty, or with missing parts, the hirer will be invoiced for repair, cleaning, or replacement costs. It is the hirer’s responsibility to protect all equipment from loss or damage until it is returned.
• The DCC accepts no liability for any damage to property or injury to persons resulting from the use of the hired equipment.
• The hirer assumes full liability for any injury or damage caused to themselves, their team, or property while using the equipment.
• Delivery and set-up are not included in the hire.
• Staff will inspect items at pick-up. The hirer must also check all items upon collection and notify the DCC immediately of any missing or damaged goods.
• The DCC is not responsible for delays due to circumstances beyond its control.

Privacy statement

We collect information from you, including your name, contact information, and the details of your organisation, along with the type and quantity of item borrowed. If you do not provide this information, we won’t be able to provide you with a waste audit kit booking.

We store your information in a secure, centralised location and only use it for the purposes of administering waste audit kit bookings. We don’t publish your details, i.e. phone number and email address etc, anywhere.
