One-stop-shop for Dunedin’s walking tracks goes live

A one-stop-shop for Dunedin walking tracks – featuring key information for the city’s walkers – is now live on the Dunedin City Council website.

The DCC Track Directory features 50 tracks from across the city – including those managed by the DCC and the Department of Conservation – as well as a range of information about each.

Walkers can scroll through the list or filter the information according to their interests or needs – from photos of each track, descriptions, track length, and major features.

The page also offers directions to find each track, updated information about whether it’s open or closed, a ‘know before you go’ section, and maps.

DCC Group Manager Parks and Recreation Heath Ellis says, “Residents and visitors to Ōtepoti Dunedin are incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing network of tracks to choose from, and our new Track Directory is designed to help people find the track that best suits what they’re looking for and get out there and enjoy our city’s stunning scenery.”

We’ll continue to make changes based on public feedback, including expanding the directory to include more information over time.

The directory is live on the DCC website now – check it out!
